No more guns

NO MORE GUNS

No need to say that guns are one of the most terrible inventions of mankind. I think it is despicable that so many wars have been fought - large or small - with deadly weapons. So I would like to ask musically to anyone who thinks that he/she needs a gun - or is ordered to carry and use one - to consider in your heart… What do you - truly - know about love?

Small note to the above: I can imagine that there are situations in which you need to defend your selves and beloved ones. I don’t intend to say that I think you can not defend - but I want to make a statement to the gun it selves and the ones who think that killing or hurting others is the best solution to achieve a better world & peace of mind.

Note about the music

For this track I started with adapting some midi drum presets in my Cubase software. Never used midi drums before – besides in my stand alone drum computer - so I liked to try this :) I changed the sounds in different ways and put an adapted synth sample next to it (you can hear this at the start of the track). Next I started playing my Fender Jazz bass, Yamaha keyboard and Fender Stratocaster guitar and added effects. I adjusted a snare drum sound so that it sounds like a gun. At first I only wanted to make it an instrumental track but while recording I found appropriate words to sing together with the - in between - guitar parts. I mixed it all together so now we can all hear the result :)
